When you think of Scholastic Book Fairs, what comes to mind?
Maybe it's the excitement of skimming through the brochure of what you were going to buy? Or maybe it's a memory of you and a friend buying similar items to talk about?
Or maybe it brings up a more somber memory of wishing you had money to buy what you wanted?
For so many children at our partner school in Paterson, their experience is the latter.
So we want to Share The Fair with them and help each of the 600 students receive a $10 voucher that will allow them to purchase 1-2 books of their choice!
We want to not only provide a positive and empowering experience for the students, but also supply them with books to bring home to build their "at home library".
