Our Goal: To make sure that infants and toddlers improve in emotional, language, cognitive and physical development; have parents who are confident in their parenting and nurturing skills; and are free from abuse and neglect.

Infants and toddlers are precious, and need special care and attention. Small children who do not receive adequate nutrition, stimulation, education and healthcare in their early years are more likely to develop complex problems later in childhood. Parents in Passaic County need support. Here’s why:

* Approximately 20,000 infants and toddlers live in Passaic County
* 25% of their mothers did not receive first trimester care during pregnancy
* Single mothers need extra help and support: 40% of single mothers with children under 5 are trying to make ends meet with annual incomes that are sub-standard.

It has amazed me how much they have already learned and changed in the short time we have been in the Our Time program. They social interaction alone has made a great difference in their well being. In addition, they are listening better, understand more, and are easier to “coach.” I have learned a few techniques myself to help me be better with them at home.
