On Friday, October 2 United Way of Passaic County distributed over 100 new mattresses for adults and families being served by
housing programs. The mattresses were
donated by Tempur-Pedic through Gifts in Kind International and are valued at $162,380.
Social service agencies
serving families and housing the homeless picked up the mattresses and
will be putting them into service in the homes of poor families and in housing programs
located throughout Passaic
County. Recipient organizations included Jewish Family
Services, Paterson YMCA, Mental Health Association, St.
Investment Board, Passaic YMCA, St. Mary’s Hospital, Family Support
Organization of Passaic County, and Veterans Family Housing Program. The tractor trailer loaded
with mattresses arrived at St. Mary’s Hospital parking lot at 10:00 am on
Friday. Recipient agencies were on
site to receive the mattresses.
A HUGE Thank you to all of our helpers and agencies for coming out and helping unload and load mattresses!
